Endurance
Regardless of whether you are a professional athlete or recreational enthusiast, obtaining an in-depth understanding of your physiology is key to optimising endurance performance and the effectiveness of your training.
Endurance assessments at the Porsche Human Performance centre involve detailed physiological analyses of key performance variables to quantify your current endurance capacity, monitor progress, and inform your training to maximise improvements. These variables include:
This data enables us to formulate bespoke training zones which you or your coach can then use to structure your subsequent training. Every assessment includes an electronic report and a full, in-person results debrief to explain how you can put science into practice.
We can cater for runners, cyclists, triathletes and rowers. Runners will be tested on a treadmill, cyclists on a Wattbike AtomX, and rowers on a Concept 2 erg.
We have a real passion for endurance sports and know what it takes to help you achieve your potential. Our staff have competed at an international level in triathlon, Xterra and adventure racing.

Complementary Services:
Several other services, relevant to endurance athletes, can be completed alongside the endurance assessments outlined above. These include:
Posture & movement screening £95 – conducted by our sports therapist, this assessment seeks to identify any limitations that might impair performance and training capacity, or increase your risk of injury. Recommendations can also be provided for how to correct any issues identified.
Sweat composition assessment £125 – this provides a measure of your personal sweat sodium concentration to help formulate an individualised hydration plan for training and racing. More information on this assessment can be found here.
Force plate strength and power testing £150 – provides a detailed insight into your maximal strength and explosive power capacity; traits that are often underappreciated by endurance athletes.
Nutrition consultation £95 – this involves completing an online nutrition diary which is evaluated by one of our nutrition coaches prior to your consultation. The 90-minute consultation is then used to provide actionable feedback and pertinent education to help fine tune your day-to-day nutrition habits and devise specific strategies for training/racing.
